In the spirit of all things scientific, occasionally explosive and all-around inspirational, the Texas A&M University Department of Chemistry is gearing up to host a virtual edition of its long-standing Chemistry Open House and Science Exploration Gallery, set for Saturday, October 16, beginning at 10 a.m.
Despite the cancellation of their traditional in-person event due to COVID-19 concerns, the faculty, staff, and students in Texas A&M Chemistry have been hard at work over the past several months to present a virtual Chemistry Open House that will feature interactive demonstrations as well as a special livestreaming of the famous Chemistry Road Show (link will be available via the Chemistry Open House website on the morning of the event).
As it has for the duration of its entire 34-year run, the Chemistry Open House will be held in conjunction with National Chemistry Week, celebrated this year from Oct. 17 to 23 with the theme, Fast or Slow … Chemistry Makes It Go! This theme will be incorporated throughout Texas A&M’s virtual event.
The Chemistry Open House and Science Exploration Gallery is sponsored in part by VWR Scientific, Hayden-McNeil Publishing, the Texas A&M College of Science, the Texas A&M University-American Chemical Society Local Chapter and the First Year Chemistry Program.
