The LEAD Awards are designed to recognize individuals who have displayed commitment to enhancing the college’s environment of mutual respect and diversity. These awards allow us to share the success stories and celebrate the leadership and vision of individuals in the College of Science. Award winners receive $500 and a plaque of appreciation.

Criteria: Nominees should demonstrate commitment to improving the college environment via efforts related to climate, equity and diversity. All nominees must have appointments in the College of Science or be registered as students at the time of nomination. We will provide awards in each of three categories: Faculty, Staff, and Student/Postdoctoral Associate.

  • Faculty nominees must be tenured/tenure-track or academic professional track faculty.
  • Staff nominees must be non-faculty employees.
  • Student or Postdoctoral nominees must be currently enrolled undergraduate or graduate students or postdoctoral associates.

Nominations are limited to one individual from each group per department and should be submitted by the department head.

All nominations should be vetted by the department head in consultation with departmental awards and/or diversity committees.
