The College of Science established an awards program in 1995 to recognize staff members for their dedication, enthusiasm, accomplishments, and contributions. Award winners receive $500 and a plaque of appreciation. Names of the winners are entered on a plaque displayed in the Office of the Dean. This year, up to three awards will be presented.

Staff eligible for nomination must:
  • be budgeted at least 50% time
  • have a minimum of two years of service to the College of Science by January 1, 2022
  • not be a former recipient of this award
Nomination materials must convince the selection committee that the nominee:
  • demonstrates excellence in meeting job requirements and demonstrates performance above and beyond what is normally required by their position
  • exhibits knowledge and mastery of their duties at a superior level
  • makes contributions which allow the department or unit to function in an effective and efficient manner, and
  • shows special qualities such as: innovation, initiative, confidence, enthusiasm, communication skills, meeting challenges, and a cooperative attitude.

The principal nominator (any faculty or staff member from the College of Science) should complete the nomination form below and upload a nomination packet consisting of:

  • nomination letter
  • maximum of three supporting letters (1-2 pages each)
  • nominees official job description

Letters from outside the nominees department are encouraged. The nominator and supporting letter writers should indicate their working relationship with the nominee.
